Fired – for needing a medical accommodation! I asked to work from home, per my doctor’s orders. HR said no. I was let go.I called an employment rights attorney. “Yes, it’s legal,” she said. Seriously? Then came the next blow: unemployment denied. Why? Because I couldn’t work in person – even though most state workers still worked remotely!! An appeal hearing is set for March. Money is frighteningly tight. But so is my grip on this fight. This cancer and these people underestimated the wrong woman. And I’m not done yet.
