“Where’s my OncoDX test?” I asked. “You didn’t get one,we only do those for early stage breast cancer, you are late stage – Stage 3” she said—already pushing chemo. I pushed back. Demanded the test. Results: Chemo wouldn’t have worked. I trusted my gut—and it saved me from unnecessary treatment. Also had my first PET scan: no metastasis. Immune system fragile, my surgeon urged remote work. I notified HR and requested accommodations. The HR director stalled. Pretended to help. I carried on anyway – starting lymphedema therapy three times a week to stay ahead of it. This fight wasn’t just physical—it was systemic. And I met it head-on.
